🍠 The Ingredients You Need

Ingredients for a sweet potato smoothie: banana, roasted sweet potato, vanilla, milk, ice, cinnamon
  • Banana: Banana is working overtime, serving to both thicken and sweeten the smoothie.
  • Roasted sweet potato: While raw sweet potatoes are edible, cooking them makes their vitamins and nutrients more bioavailable, meaning your body can absorb and process them more easily.

🔁 Variations & Substitutions

  • Keep it raw: If you have a high-powered blender, you might be tempted to throw in a sweet potato raw into your smoothie and go to town. And while raw sweet potatoes are perfectly edible, to get the most nutrition and flavor out of sweet potatoes, they need to be cooked.
  • Go vegan: Use plant-based milk to keep this smoothie vegan.
  • No ice: Use frozen bananas, and you can skip the ice! You'll get a stronger flavor to the smoothie
  • Skip the banana: Leave out the banana and replace it with canned pears, homemade yogurt (or this coconut milk yogurt recipe if you're vegan or dairy-free), or an avocado half. Take inspiration from my whole collection of smoothies without banana!
  • Add ginger: Both dried or fresh ginger will give this smoothie a bit of a bite, and brings a bunch of health benefits. Or try any of our other smoothie booster pack addition ideas!
