Ingredients
1, 750
ml
bottle sparkling wine
chilled
2
cups
orange juice
chilled
2
cups
fresh strawberries
hulled and chopped
Instructions
Combine the orange juice and fresh strawberries in a blender or food processor.
Pulse the mixture just until pureed.
Pour champagne flutes 50% with sparkling wine.
Carefully pour the strawberry orange juice over the wine to fill each glass.
Serve immediately.
Notes
Any sparkling wine works here, brut is my favorite because it's a nice balance between sweet and tart.
Fresh or frozen strawberries both work, just make sure frozen ones are fully thawed before blending.
The strawberry-orange puree keeps 2-3 days in the fridge (give it a stir before using, it separates).
Assemble the drinks fresh right before serving, the puree can be made ahead, but the finished cocktail is best right away.
