1ouncefresh lime juice, about one lime (reserve the squeezed lime rinds)(2 tablespoons)
4ouncestequila any kind works, but blanco preferred (½ cup)
1½ouncessimple syrup(3 tablespoons)
1ounceCointreau or Triple Sec(2 tablespoons )
Sea saltblueberries, lime wedges, and ice, for serving
Instructions
In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, combine the fresh blueberries and lime juice. Mash the blueberries using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon until well smooshed.
Add in the reserved lime rinds, tequila, simple syrup, and Cointreau or Triple Sec. Place the lid on the shaker and shake well to combine.
To salt glasses, pour salt into a shallow saucer. Run a lime wedge over the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into the salt.
Fill two glasses with ice, then pour the margarita over the ice. Garnish with additional blueberries and lime wedges, if desired.
Notes
To make simple syrup: Combine 1 cup water and 1 cup granulated sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring a boil and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
