Do your eating habits change when you get busy? How about when you are stressed? I think it’s so interesting how people react differently to busy schedules. When I get crazy busy, I actually tend to forget to eat. And even beyond that, I totally miss my hunger cues. I don’t even realize I’m hungry until I break away to do something else (let Puppyface out, go to the bathroom, etc.). Only then do I realize I’m actually famished. I have a total mental block while I’m working, but as soon as the seal is broken, the hangry monster shows up.
I was crazy busy this past Monday (my Teux Deux list was packed) and I pretty much spaced eating. If it wasn’t for Babyface, I probably would have just nibbled all day until dinner. But husband to the rescue, so I at least got three solid meals in! And by the time I clocked out and was ready for dinner, I was starving! So I gave myself a nice big serving of yumminess for dinner.
- Breakfast: I started working way before dawn (after two cups of fully-leaded caffeinated coffee). I was totally in the zone and forgot about breakfast, but Babyface delivered this meal to me at my desk. He’s a good one, right? English muffin with two eggs, a slice of turkey and some cheese. Plus some plain Greek yogurt and some fruit on the side.
- Lunch: We got to around 2pm before either of us realized we should probably eat some lunch (Babyface was busy unpacking boxes and setting up our new office). I peeled myself away from my computer to make a new version of shrimp ‘n’ grits. It was very, very tasty! Recipe coming at you later this week.
- Dinner: Baked salmon with a giant pile of peach salsa and some farm stand green beans.
