Woke up yesterday to more gray and rain.
But it didn’t dampen our spirits.
We were headed here. Where they have AWESOME headline writers
And an awesome view.
And awesome exhibits.
But a mediocre breakfast. Seriously? For how much money my employer is paying for this conference all we get is unripe fruit and Nature Valley bars? Unimpressed.
Spent the morning doing these things.
And then it was lunch time. We headed to the City Tavern.
Where we drank out of pewter goblets.
And were served by people dressed all Colonial-like.
And then there was beer. A LOT of beer.
And bread. The biscuits up front were George Washington’s favorite sweet potato biscuits. They tasted like hockey pucks to me.
And turkey pot pie. Which was incredible, but so ridiculously rich that I felt sick afterwards.
Served with gravy and noodles. Random. Didn’t really touch those.
Martha Washington’s chocolate mousse cake. Which we split and spent the entire time debating if this could ever possibly, really be from the Colonial era.
And then there was more of this.
And then beer o’ clock. Again.
(One page of the 6 page beer list)
And then we walked around trying to find some food to fill our bellies and decided that pizza and salads sounded good.
Two salads. Mixed greens with roasted peppers. And then an AMAZING spinach, goat cheese, beet and candied walnut salad. To die for.
Two pizzas. A Mediterranean with feta, spinach and mushrooms.
And a plain ole margherita pizza. Which was fantastic!
And then we wandered down to a street and art fair.
And this is pretty much how the rest of the noght went. It ended up with us visiting TWO different tattoo parlors. Teehee!
