Happy Friday, friends!
Remember when after my half marathon I pretty much said, “to hell with running!” And vowed I was done with running and didn’t like and it was terrible and all that other whiney-wine face crap? Well, as your probably expected, now that Fall racing season is here, I’ve totally caught the racing bug again. I miss it. I miss the free shirts, the medals, the group atmosphere, the pride. The weather has been so amazing for running and the feeling of crunchy leaves under my Vibrams makes me a very, very happy girl.
Thanks to all of this…emotion…I may or may not have gone on a race-planning binge yesterday. Okay, I totally did. Here are my planned races for the remainder of 2011.
Hoosiers Outrun Cancer 5K : September 24
This is one of those charity races that Babyface and I have participated in since way before either of us ran. I remember walking it one year and thinking, “There is no way I can ever run this.” And then I did. 🙂
Jill Behrman 5K : October 22
Another local charity run/walk that we always do as a team with my office.
Indianapolis Monumental 5K : November 5
The graphic is deceiving, no marathon or half here, but we do want to the 5K with these races. I’ve heard really great things about this race and would love to do a cool-weather race. Plus, I heard from a little birdie that they are giving out medals for 5K finishers. I love a good medal.
I would also really, really, really like to find a 10k before 2011 is out, but nothing seems that promising. We’re also in talks about our Spring racing schedule, but more on that later. 🙂
