I would really love to start answering my work phone this way.
Obviously, we watched Elf tonight.
While doing some serious Christmas decorating!
Puppyface was confused by the commotion.
The Husband and I partook in some adult beverages of the egg nog variety.
Egg nog is an excellent way to refuel after a 3 mile run. Right?
Don’t worry, I had unphotographed pizza, too.
First goal : get our “modern mantel” set up. We have no fireplace, so our media shelves serve the purpose. Silly, but it gets the job done!
While I did that, Babyface illuminated the tree.
Even the bathroom got touch of holiday cheer.
And the we were ready to start trimming the tree. The ridiculouslness of our ornament collection is not lost of me.
It takes every inch of our tree to hold all of our collection. Part of the problem is that it is constantly growing. We buy an ornament from each place we visit through the year. This year’s new additions : Savannah, Philadelphia, Chicago and Mackinaw Island.
Some common themes in our ornament collection. Antique ornaments from my grandparents.
Ornaments I made as a kid.
Vintage-style glass ornaments. (Santa as a blogger?)
Planes! We were a long-distance relationship, planes had a lot of meaning to us. We had a fourth one, but it broke this year.
Lighthouses. I love lighthouses!
And of course, food-related ornaments. Including a replica of my red KitchenAid mixer.
Beautiful. I love, love, love this time of year.
I promise more pictures of pretty food soon. Thanksgiving leftovers are waning and I might even cook again in the near future.
