A Day in My Life

Share this post:

A Day in My LifeA few folks have asked how my life has changed now that I’m working for myself and I thought ADMIL post would be a great way to show what my days are like now. Things have certainly changed from the last time I did a weekday ADMIL post. Admittedly, this particular day was a little unusual because it was my weekly errands day, but it still gives you an idea of what life without a job is like for me. So here is my Thursday, February 28, 2013.

Wakeup.

IMG_5425

Grab just a few things I couldn’t find at the regular store.

IMG_5426

Walk across the street. Hello, lover.

IMG_5427

So. Much. Pretty.

IMG_5428

Manage to grab everything I need for a set of shower invitations I’m working on. Score!

IMG_5429

Done in Louisville. Time to head home.

IMG_5431

Eat a hard-boiled egg while driving. Don’t try this at home. I’m a professional hard-boiled egg eater.

IMG_5433

Back home again…

IMG_5435

Stop for gas.

IMG_5437

Rock out to MJ.

IMG_5442

IMG_5457

Time to peel myself away from the computer.

IMG_5458

Unload and load the dishwasher again.

IMG_5459

Put away laundry.

IMG_5461

Bundle up! We’re headed outside.

IMG_5462

Make some tea. One for me. One for Babyface.

IMG_5463

Time to roll.

IMG_5464

Puppy’s going with me!

IMG_5465

Clementine while driving. I eat a lot in the car, apparently.

IMG_5467

30 minutes later, and we’re here!

IMG_5470

The welcoming committee…

IMG_5472

Walk Puppyface around for about an hour.

IMG_5476

Time to go get Babyface!

IMG_5480

Hiya, hotstuff. Let’s go home!

IMG_5481

Home.

IMG_5483

Jammie time.

IMG_5485

Leftovers for dinner.

IMG_5486

Downstairs to watch The Americans (so good!) with dinner.

IMG_5488

Once The Americans is over, start working on those invitations…

IMG_5489

…while watching the Blackhawks.

IMG_5492

Two periods go by, and I’m still lining envelopes.

IMG_5493

Finally done with the envelopes. Woohoo!

IMG_5494

Decide it’s time to relax. Grab my computer, recline on the couch. Write some more.

IMG_5495

Finish that post. Start working on this one.

IMG_5496

Lots of photo editing in this one.

IMG_5497

Computer is about dead. No interest in getting my cord. Must mean it’s time to really relax.

z1

Computer closed. Watch the last few minutes of the game…

z2

…while giving lots of love to this fluffyface…

z3

…and this fuzzy little kitty.

z4

Hawks win! It’s a good time to be a Chicago Blackhawks fan.

z5

I’m exhausted. Bedtime.

z7

Bathroom, brush teeth, mouthguard in.

z6

Hello my comfy, comfy friend.

z8

Good night!

  1. I love these posts. My comments:

    A) You still get up SO early! I’m impressed and scared.
    B) We just got a Paper Source nearby (well, there are a few of them around DC, but now there’s one like, super close) and it is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING EVER. AUUUUGH ALL THE MONIES.

    <3

  2. I should not have read this. Now, I know that there’s a Paper Source in Louisville. Must. Not. Google. Address.

Also, so proud of you making notes to keep your receipts like a good little entrepreneur. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Shari

I am a new reader and didnt realize you were so close to Louisville. That’s where I live! Nice to ‘meet’ ya, neighbor ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Krystina

Holy crap you have gorgeous hair, lady.

Do you feed kittyface Blue Buffalo? The kibble looks the same as what I feed mine. What do you do for wet food?

    1. Cassie

Hahaha, my hair routine is kinda embarrassingly simple. I wash with baking soda and condition with apple cider vinegar. Then I let it air dry until it’s almost completely dry, and then I twist it into a bun and let it dry the rest of the way in the bun to get my waves. I do use a flat iron on my bangs. No products other than the occasional tiny bit of coconut oil if my hair is feeling dry and sometimes an egg and lemon juice wash if I start to see any split ends.

  5. Have you tried keeping your water bottle (or glass) next to your bed overnight? I do that, and then have a nice, room-temperatured drink when I wake up. Of course, I don’t know how this will work if your bedroom is pretty cold… ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I love day in the life posts… it’s so interesting to see what other people do with their days. Did you set your alarm for that time or did you just get up?? That’s so early! I work from home two days a week now, and I don’t think I’ll ever have enough willpower to start my day that early. But good for you for being so productive! Overall, it really seems like you got so much done, especially blogging-wise.

  7. I do not believe your hair looks that good when you wake up. (Do not believe = is extremely jealous of)

PS Do you ever sing “Back Home Again in Indiana” when you cross the border into? I am so guilty. It’s a little awkward when you’re with other people…or riding a Greyhound bus.
