I mentioned last night that Babyface had rearranged our second bedroom to be a home gym. I know I was waffling about whether or not I made the right decision to quit my gym membership, but now seeing all of our equipment together and arranged in an efficient way, I can safely say I am SO happy we aren’t paying that $50/month anymore!
It is so nice to just…hop on. No worrying about if my legs are shaved or if I can find parking at the gym.
The second bedroom of our apartment is actually the largest of the two, so on one half we have our office/crafty/sewing stuff (chaaaaaaoooossssss!)
And on the other, there is plenty of room for our small home gym!
(That’s a folding table propped up against the wall that Babyface uses for photo stuff. We still need to find a home for it.)
Obviously, we have a recumbent bike and elliptical (a big splurge that was BARELY getting used).
Plus random other fitness tools. A trampoline (fun!), exercise ball, various free weights. On the wall, Babyface tacked up our resistance bands and jump rope for easy access.
And the best part?
TV! With cable, DVR and a DVD player! No more bored workouts here. I’m totally hoarding Teen Mom 2 and Jersey Shore episodes just for workouts. This TV was in our bedroom, which I kinda hated. We rarely used it and it just took up SO much space. MUCH happier with it in our home gym.
View from the elliptical.
View from the bike.
What’s that I see behind the TV?
Our race bibs and medals for added motivation!
Also great, there is plenty of open floor space.
I can do yoga, body-weight exercises, stretching and DVDs without needing to move furniture. Yay! Now I need a yoga mat.
(The rest of that shelf holds camera equipment and accessories. We are limited on storage space here. Take it where you can get it.)
The only fitness item that we own that isn’t in here are all our Wii and games, but we obviously don’t want to move those from our living room.
Now I just need a treadmill. . .
