In the past, I’ve been a big fan of scales. They, without a doubt, have been an extremely useful tool in my health journey of the past few years. I like numbers. I like quantifiable results. This number of calories in. This number of calories out. And the scale has been the ultimate determination of my success over those numbers for years.
And then the scale stopped moving. My frustration took over and suddenly, the scale that had once made me feel accomplished, was making me feel like a failure. I was working hard. But the scale was barely budging, and when it was, it was budging up. And after thinking long and hard about it, I decided to hide my scale. And I couldn’t be happier about it.
