Thinking…about how much free time I’d have if I wasn’t such a rotten procrastinator. And by spending time thinking about how much time I’d save if I wasn’t procrastinating, I’m procrastinating.
Feeling…giddy that *NSYNC did actually reunite (albeit, for two minutes). That pretty much made my year.
Watching…nothing. I was only partially kidding when I said I wasn’t sure I could ever watch another TV show after finishing The West Wing. Since then, we’ve watched a few Mythbusters episodes, plus some football and racing (and enough of the VMAs to get through *NSYNCs performance, obviously), but I haven’t had the heart to start watching another show. Too soon.
Reading…the very, very beginning of Made from Scratch by Jenna Wogrinich . I just started, so no reactions yet. I did just finish The Buccolic Plague by Josh Kilmer-Purcell, and I flipping loved it. Keeping with my current theme, it’s a book about city folk who move to the country and start a farm, but this one is particularly entertaining. Imagine an ex-drag queen turned advertising executive and his partner (who works for Martha Stewart) buying a 200-year-old farm in upstate New York on a whim during an apple-picking trip. Hilarity ensues. And some tears and general heartfeltness. But mostly hilarity.
Excited…that the Healthy Living Summit is coming up! I’m, of course, excited for the programming and to participate in my session, but I’m really excited to get to finally meet some of my favorite bloggers and Twitter friends. I can’t wait!
Missing…my fun colorful hair.
Wondering…why Britney and Justin aren’t back together yet. I mean, Jessica Biel, you’re cool and all, but c’mon, you’re on the wrong side of destiny, girl.
Working…on the design for my cookbook, plus the cover and interior designs for four other cookbooks. Plus, I’m finally dedicating some time to getting my own personal graphic design portfolio site up (soon to be here). I’ve been a professional designer for a good decade or so and I have never had my own website. I’ve probably launched a hundred sites with my design on them, but never my own. Kinda ironic, isn’t it?
Stressed…about nothing, really. That’s a rare one. I have a lot on my plate, but nothing is causing me any strife right now. Well, okay, maybe one little thing—the backlog of emails I haven’t answered yet. But I’m not losing sleep over it.
Proud…that my cookbook manuscript came back with relatively few major edits.
Wanting…to be able to snap my fingers and my cabinets be painted. I really want to paint my cabinets, but I really don’t want to spend the majority of my 30s sanding, painting and priming.
Wishing…I hadn’t just burned the crap out of a loaf of bread. You know that whole smoke-pouring-out-of-the-oven-because-the-cook-forgot-about-it thing? Well, I thought that only happened to Cher Horowitz. Apparently not. It happens to me, too. This is why timers, exist, Casandra. Use them.
Eating…chips and (our homemade) salsa for dinner. Because this summer suddenly decided to actually be summer, and the house is too damn hot after the bread-burning catastrophe to actually cook anything.
Drinking…local beer. Craig has been stopping off at a liquor store and getting us sampler packs of local beers. I love beer.
Loving…fresh mozzarella, Pilot Razor Point II pens, coffee, kitty and puppy snuggles.
