I’m having more fun working other people’s cookbooks than I did doing my own. My publisher signed me on to do designs for a handful of upcoming cookbooks by other authors, and I am having so much fun working with them. Writing my cookbook was hard. Really hard. The good kind of hard, but still, I put so much pressure on myself (and admittedly, writing is not my comfort zone), which didn’t exactly make it a stress-free experience. But designing other people’s stuff? Not hard. Not uncomfortable. No pressure. No stress. Just fun.
I have absolutely no idea what to do with cash when I end up with some. We use an online bank (Capitol One 360 = <3) and so rarely have any cash on hand, that I was totally perplexed the other day when Craig handed me a $5 bill he had. I literally said, “What am I supposed to do with this?” To which he replied, “I dunno. What am I supposed to do with it?” Lincoln’s just been staring at me from the corner of the desk for days now. Ha! I guess I’ll go get a coffee or something.
I 100% regret cutting bangs a few months back. They were really cute. I loved the way they looked. I loved having them. For about two weeks. And then I realized that they needed to be trimmed every 2-3 weeks to maintain their cuteness. And that kind of maintenance is just not realistic for my lifestyle. So they are growing out, slooooowwwly. And in the meantime, I’m single-handedly keeping the bobby pin companies in business. So, if in the future, you ever hear me say, “I think I want to cut really cute blunt bangs!”, then please direct me to this post.
I have never been out of North America. And as much as I like to talk a big game about dream trips overseas, I can’t see any time in the immediate future when I’ll be dropping the cash to go on some European vacation. Any extra money I have I want to funnel into stuff for around here. A new fence beats out a tour of Paris in my books. I’m so old and boring.
Pardon my French, but I totally LOST MY STUFFING when I heard that *NSYNC was performing at the VMAs this weekend. As in, I heard it on the radio while I was driving to the grocery store, and I had to literally pull the car over to the side of the road and have a freak out on the shoulder. I AM SO EXCITED, GUYS. In related news, I went and dug out and scanned this gem of a photo from 2001 just for you guys. You’re welcome.
