I was planning on writing this whole big long post about the virtues of menu-planning (it’s awesome!), but then I got sucked into no less than half a season’s worth of The Vampire Diaries. And all my blogging time got gobbled up by the blood-sucking Salvatore brothers. Damn them and their brooding!
Actually, you can blame Gretchen for getting me hooked on TVD. Which caused me to not devote my all to this blog post. So yes, go register your complaints on this lackluster post with her. And if you don’t have any complaints, just go check out her blog anyways, because she’s awesome. Really awesome.
Anywho. One thing I do want to tell you all in this sad excuse of a post is the addition of my weekly menu to the sidebar! If you look over there to the right, just below all my social media links (follow me on those!) you’ll see what we’re eating for the week. I’ve gotten lots of requests for more insight into our everyday food situation. I get it! Fun, fancy, well-plated recipes are cool, but there is definitely something nice about pulling back the curtain and seeing the real down-and-dirty everyday eats. Some weeks you’ll see I put more effort into it than others. Some weeks you’ll see a whole lot of “breakfast for dinner” and “frozen pizza”. That’s real, un-Photoshopped life right there for us. And hopefully this widget will give you a bigger glimpse into my real food world.
I just updated the widget for this upcoming week. As you’ll see, some of them are links to my recipes we’re having, some are links out to new recipes we’re trying, and some are just old stand-bys (like pizza night). A few of them even give you a preview of upcoming Wholefully recipes. Those marked with an asterisk are the dishes I’m testing out for future blog post-dom.
Eventually, I’d love to have a whole section with weekly menus, grocery lists, etc. But for now, that little bitty widget over there with what we’re eating for the week is a step in the right direction. We go grocery shopping on Fridays, so look for that to be updated toward the end of the week.
And thus ends this catastrophe of blogging. I’m gonna go write my grocery list while I watch Elena be indecisive.
